The City of Mannington is now accepting applications for the position of Police Officer in the City Clerk's Office until Monday, July 22, 2024 at 4:00 p.m.

Once applications are submitted to the City Clerk’s Office, the applicant must complete and pass a physical agility exam whereas each applicant must do 28 sit-ups in one minute; 18 push-ups in one minute and run 1.5 miles in 14 minutes and 36 seconds or less. Once an applicant passes the physical agility test, the applicant will then be ranked by their test score on a list of applicants eligible to proceed to the interview phase of the hiring process.

The benefit package for a new hire Police Officer has a starting salary of $39,520.00 with a salary of $41,600.00 after six-month probation and graduation from the State Police Academy. This pay will be increased to $41,600.00 starting salary and $43,680.00 after probation effective July 8th, 2024.

Each Officer will earn one week vacation after the first year; 13-15 paid holidays per year; two (2) personal days per year and ten (10) hours of sick leave per month after the completion of the probationary period. Each officer is offered health insurance.
